29 Jan The Super Bowl to Feature 58 Foot Display Screen
The Super Bowl is the biggest football game of the year. A big game deserves a big screen. Your 58 inch screen at home is perfect for a party, but the game stadium will feature a 58 foot display screen.
The University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona is hosting this year’s Super Bowl and has upgraded their display screen in preparation. The new high-definition LED display screen is 58-feet high by 164-feet wide. This spans the width of the field. It features a 13 HD pixel layout to provide high quality, while being in sight from any seat within the stadium.
The screen will provide fans in the stadium with live video and instant replays. The content will highlight one large video image, while also featuring smaller windows to display statistics and game information. Sponsored messages will also be shown in the smaller windows.
The screen was put in the stadium in preparation for the Super Bowl as part of an $18 million enhancement project which took place over the summer. The enhancements included two new video boards which are three times as large as the ones they are replacing. At the same time, in stadium Wi-Fi was added, providing fans with 10 times as much bandwidth.
Unable to make it to the game? The display screen is expected to be viewed by the 100 million people watching worldwide at home on their TVs or via webcast, multiple times.
