Moving the focus from transactions to interactions in banking

Scottish Bank Clydesdale recently opened a new space in London that ads an an interactive fintech expo and a working innovation lab to a conventional bank branch.

The space meets the everyday needs of consumers, but also hosts a test and learn facility to enable clients to learn more about Clydesdale’s latest technological innovations and digital banking solutions. The underlying theme is designed to ’empower customers to take control of their finances’.

The space has a futuristic design with B shaped mirros and digital screens throughout the entrance, and colorful visuals inside.  The lab space is in an open plan area with large white desks and tablets that give visitors access to banking apps. Voice activated banking is also demonstrated here. All in all, this is a great demonstration of how banks are moving the focus from transactions to interactions, and better engaging consumers in a holistic way.
