We recently attended an event that was held as a fundraiser for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) run by UNICO National – the Avon Chapter.
Through fundraising and events, UNICO National supports worthwhile causes throughout the year. In fact, of the funds raised each year by the Avon Chapter, about $10,000 to 12,000 have gone to the CCMC annually in the last five years. The team have also supported Vessels for Vets and the Wounded Warrior Project in the last few years.
The organization also supports a scholarship program and other local charities and initiatives. For example, they have donated to the Avon High School Brand, and to the UNICO National to support the Jimmy V (Valvano) Foundation. Funds have been donated to St Ann’s Youth Program to enable the growth of a garden to feed those who go to St Ann’s Food Pantry.
