The Reality team had a very busy month of March, much of which was spent in Las Vegas during the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) and Globalshop trade shows.
SEGD CX Workshop
We kicked everything off with the SEGD CX Workshop, a one day event in partnership with DSE, which took place one day prior to DSE 2015. This event was hosted by the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD).
Reality Interactive Senior Designer, Matt Pietkevich, spoke on an event panel called “Connecting Customers”. The workshop session focused on understanding how to connect customers with content seamlessly across different devices. Matt used the installations from the Time Warner Cable Flagship Store as a case study.
DSE 2015
For the biggest trade show in the digital signage industry, Reality debuted our new, bigger 20×10 trade show booth design. Members from our New Business Development and Creative departments as well as Partners attended the show and manned our booth.
In place of Principal, Craig Martin, Shaun McKenna from New Business Development spoke in an on-floor workshop at DSE. “Moving from Pilot to Rollout: A Recipe for Success” taught attendees about the logistics of rolling out a successful pilot for a technical project. In between the pilot and the production rollout, the pre-production sample is the crucial step which Shaun focused on in his presentation.
Globalshop 2015
After a week back in the office the team made like boomerangs and headed right back to Vegas for Globalshop. At the show Creative Director, Doug Hampton-Dowson spoke in a seminar called “Configuring the Interactive Environment”.
Using the Time Warner Cable Flagship Store as a case study, Doug discussed the complex process of planning a store transformation. Doug breaks it down to four principles; customer, environment, placement and content.
Upcoming Trade Shows
Doug will be speaking in Vegas again on April 9, at the International Sign Expo (ISA). He is on a panel called, “Digital Technology in Retail Spaces“. This seminar will educate attendees on increasing consumer engagement using in-store design and implementation methods. Reality will not have a booth at ISA.
Stay tuned to our blog for future trade show announcements.
