Supporting TWC’s “Demo-Days” Retail Event



Time Warner Cable (TWC) held a series of pretty neat promotional events in their nationwide retail stores this month.

In-store customers signing up for an applicable new Cable / TV / Phone bundle got a free Dell 2-in-1!

How did customers figure out which bundle was best for them? A “Bundle Builder” app was specifically created by TWC to walk customers through the options, ask them questions and make a smart recommendation. And what better way to use the Bundle Builder than on an actual Dell 2-in-1!

Brand ambassadors had another tool to interact with customers; four simulated demos of TWC’s mobile apps; TWC TV® , TWC WiFi® Finder, My TWC® and IntelligentHome. These simulated demos were created for TWC by Reality Interactive to inspire customers by showing the benefits of TWC’s apps in the context of their own lives.

The following is a short spot created by Reality for TWC promoting the Demo Days events in retail stores.

The events have been a big hit with both customers and store staff. Most ran for 2 days, at both TWC retail stores and Best Buy locations, and included other fun activities like give-aways and a spin-the-wheel game.

Getting A Third-Party Device Ready for a Retail Event

Our job was to support TWC’s retail events team by getting their Bundle Builder app and the Simulated App Demo experiences onto the Dell 2-in-1 in a retail-rugged way and with an easy-to-use interface.

Any public event requires a lot of planning and prep-work, but this can be even more challenging when working with a third-party’s technology (in this case, the Dell 2-in1).

With 80 stores participating, it was impossible for TWC’s retail events team or Reality to attend every event in person (Although Project Manager, Jess Amenta was in the Hollywood Store!). Instead, we focused on making our Dell 2-in-1 experience easy-to-use and super simple to connect and operate.

We provided close support to TWC, helping prepare and train their Brand Ambassadors and Store Managers, contributing to webinars and instructional manuals and manning a live Help Desk for the duration of the campaign.
